These free 45-minute classes are designed to provide a valuable hands-on
training opportunity for our Water Safety Instructors (WSIs), allowing them to gain real-time teaching experience.
During the class, you will hear supervisors giving directions, offering feedback, and making corrections as part of the WSI teaching and learning process.
Our goal is to ensure that every child receives attentive instruction while building confidence in the water. We kindly ask for your patience and understanding as our Water Safety Instructors continue to grow and develop their teaching skills.
The class will not follow a traditional lesson format, and individual attention and progress for each child will vary. Thank you for being a part of this special experience.
We truly appreciate your understanding as we work to build strong,
skilled swim lesson instructors. To register, visit MyGlendaleParks.com.

Registration can be done online at MyGlendaleParks.com To receive residency rates, you must pre-register for residency status on a yearly basis. This typically happens in January of each year.
For those who are unable to register because spaces are full, we offer in-person second day registration which takes place at 7:30 a.m. (summer classes) or 9 a.m. (year round classes) the day after any group class begins. This is for any lesson space opened up by no shows on the first day of class. You can also call Pacific Pool to inquire if there are spaces available however, in-person registration takes priority.
Swim lesson class participants MUST be present on the first day of the scheduled swim lesson; otherwise, the participant will be automatically dropped from the class. Refunds or credits will not be authorized in the event this happens. If you know in advance that the participant will be unable to attend the first class session, you have the option to call AND SPEAK TO a staff member and ask for it to be noted on the swim lesson roster that your participant will not be present on the first day and they will then be placed on the "Do Not Drop" list and will not be dropped from the session. You must also indicate your child's swim level at this time. Make-up classes are generally not offered. However, staff will attempt to accommodate make-up class requests. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee and we appreciate your understanding and kindness.
For year round lessons (September-May):
Please register for the specific swim LEVEL your child is qualified for. If unsure, swim lesson level assessments are offered by reservation daily. If currently enrolled, be sure to check with your child's swim lesson instructor for which level to register for next.
For summer swim lessons (June-August):
Please register for the TIME you are interested in. The exact level of the participant will be determined by a swim lesson instructor on the first day of class.
REFUNDS are not offered for aquatics classes.
Credits for aquatics programs are not typically offered however, under special circumstances, any request would require a minimum of 1 week advance notice to the start of the class. Credits are not authorized for slower than expected progression, registering for the wrong level or time, registering at the non-resident rate, because of cold, rainy, inclement weather, scheduling conflicts or if you are dropped for missing the first day without properly notifying staff. Please note, in group lessons, children only have a limited amount of individualized attention and will progress through the classes at their own pace.
